The Steelers continue to restructure contracts of veterans while they entertain their first veteran free agent today at their facility on the South Side.
Wide receiver Steve Breaston, cut by the Kansas City Chiefs last week, will return home to visit with the Steelers coaches today. Breaston played at Woodland Hills High School. He visited the Browns in Cleveland today.
In the meantime, Antonio Brown became the second Steelers player to restructure his contract, creating about $3 million in salary cap room for them in 2013. It comes one day after Lawrence Timmons restructured his deal. The Steelers are working on restructuring Ben Roethlisberger's contract, which should be completed by the end of the week. LaMarr Woodley also is a candidate to restructure his deal.
The Steelers were approximately $14 million over the salary cap before they began their annual restructuring of contracts to create room. They have to be in salary cap compliance by 2012.
