As expected, Jonathan Dwyer and Rashard Mendenhall will both miss today’s games with their injuries. Dwyer’s is a bit of a surprise. He left last week’s game late when his thigh tightened. He told me no one hit him on the play.
Mike Tomlin on Tuesday sounded optimistic he would be OK this week. However, that was not the case, he did not practice and today he joins Mendenhall on the scratch list.
So they will be thin again at running back with Isaac Redman starting and Chris Rainey and Baron Batch behind him.
Other inactives: OT Marcus Gilbert, S Troy Poloamalu, LB Stevenson Sylvester, NT Alameda Ta’amu and QB Charlie Batch.
The New York Giants were hoping to have safety Kenny Phillips back to help cover Heath Miller, but he will miss his fifth straight game.
Other Giants inactives: LB Chase Blackburn, DE Adewale Ojomo, TE Bear Pascoe, LB Keith Rivers, TE Adrien Robinson, LB Jacquian Williams.
