Some stuff before noon:
--- Saw a few fans wearing the prison outfits while walking from the parking lot. Not a pretty sight.
--- Trade deadline is Tuesday: Don’t look for the Steelers to be involved.
--- The last Steelers coach to lose to the Washington Redskins? Chuck Noll in 1991.
--- Mike Tomlin’s team will try to make it 9 in a row at home against an NFC team, back to the New York Giants in 2008.
--- I will appear on KDKA-TV pregame show at 11:30 a.m. and on the radio at 93.7 The Fan at noon.
--- Dan Rooney is here today, for those who keep score.
--- Don’t look for the Steelers to blitz Robert Griffin much. The linebackers will have to stay in their areas to avoid the run.
--- Isaac Redman may dress, but Jonathan Dwyer will start at halfback.
--- Remember that RG3, who has completed 70 percent of his passes, won’t have tight end Fred Davis and wide receiver Pierre Garcon to throw to today.
--- YOU: Do you think it is ok for sports teams to have names like the Redskins or the Indians? Or do you believe that names like that are offensive and should be eliminated?
ME: I am surprised the pro teams stick with those names. Most of the colleges have switched, including mine, which used to be the Indiana University of Pennsylvania Big Indains (ugh) and are now the Red Hawks. It took them way too long. If Washington wants to continue to use Redskins, at least their logo should be a potato.
