Running back Isaac Redman was a surprise participant in practice today because his injured ankle felt so good and has a chance to play Sunday against the Redskins at Heinz Field.
Redman did not play in Cincinnati after he sprained his ankle Oct 11 against the Tennessee Titans and said the injury was sore after he went through individual drills on Wednesday.
But when he woke up today, he said his ankle felt so much better that it was ‘like night and day.” He decided to practice with the scout team and, when that went well, he said he got a couple series with the regular offense.
Asked if he will play against the Redskins, Redman said, “It’s up to coach Tomlin now. I feel like I can. It’s amazing how much better it feels.”
Even if he does play, Jonathan Dwyer is expected to start against the Redskins. Dwyer had the first 100-yard rushing game and two longest runs (21, 32) of the season against the Bengals.
Alos, kicker Shaun Suisham, who has been bothered by a left ankle injury, worked today and will play against the Redskins. Suisham has not said how he was injured. If the injury were aggravated against the Redskins, P Drew Butler would handle the placements.
