Evgeni Malkin is alternating with Dustin Jeffrey between Malkins regular wingers, Beau Bennett and James Neal, at Penguins practice. Malkin also is working with the top power-play unit. That's even more evidence that Malkin is close to returning from what is believed to be a shoulder injury, perhaps as soon as Friday night's road game against the New York Islanders.
