Practice update -- March 21

Evgeni Malkin is on the ice with ihis teammates for the third day in a row, increasing the chances that the injured Penguins center will return to the lineup Friday night for a game against the Islanders on Long Island.

Injured defenseman Kris Letang skated for about an hour before practice with conditioning coach Mike Kadar but has not returned for practice. That decreases the likelihood he will play Friday.

Both players are listed by the team as day-to-day.

Beyond that, everyone is accounted for. That includes winger Matt Cooke, who has been playing but not practicing this week.
