After each game, Post-Gazette writers will post an entry listing the players who were announced as the official three stars of that contest, with a brief explanation of why they were selected.

We want to know how fans watching the game, whether in person or on television, feel about those choices, which generally are made by one or more media members covering the event.

The three stars in the Penguins' 3-0 victory against the New York Rangers Saturday at Consol Energy Center were:

1. Penguins G Marc-Andre Fleury (23 saves, franchise-record 23rd shutout).

2. Penguins RW Tyler Kennedy (one goal, one assist).

3. Penguins C Dustin Jeffrey (two assists).
