Penguins coach Dan Bylsma ruled injured center Evgeni Malkin out of Saturday's afternoon home game against the New York Rangers.

Malkin skated before practice. He has what is believed to be a shoulder injury.

Bylsma also declined to reveal how he will handle the starting goaltender assignments for the weekend. We're going to guess that Tomas Vokoun will play against the Rangers and Marc-Andre Fleury will start Sunday when Boston visits, also a day game.
