Penguins center Evgeni Malkin, who was diagnosed with a concussion after being knocked into the boards by Florida defenseman Erik Gudbranson last Friday at Consol Energy Center, won't be playing on the three-game road trip that begins in Sunrise, Fla. tonight.

He might not be doing much of anything else during that time, either.

Coach Dan Bylsma said after the Penguins' game-day skate at BB&T Arena today that Malkin is not engaging in any physical activity.

"There's not a specific schedule for that right now, in terms of physical activity," Bylsma said. "The protocol, resting with a concussion, he's following that right now."

There is no timetable for Malkin to return to the lineup.
