Penguins coach Dan Bylsma did not have definitive news concerning center Evgeni Malkin's inury, although he confirmed that Malkin will miss Sunday night's home game against Tampa Bay. Bylsma noted that Malkin slammed hard into the boards during Friday's win against Florida and said he is not hospitalized.

Beyond that, Bylsma did not say whether Malkin has undergone the neurocognitive concussion test that would be compared with his baseline testing. He said more than once that the team is following NHL protocol in terms of evaluating Malkin. That would indicate that there are at least concerns that the defending NHL scoring champion and MVP has a concussion.

Other possibilities are a neck injury, a back injury or some combination of those things.
