WBS releases Eaton

The Penguins' American Hockey League farm club in Wilkes-Barre has released defenseman Mark Eaton from a professional tryout agreement.

Eaton, 35, won a Stanley Cup with the Penguins in 2009. He last played in the NHL with the New York Islanders. Injuries, however, have dogged Eaton.

With Wilkes-Barre, he had an assist in six games.
