Final score: Penguins 4, Sabres 3
Why it matters: The Penguins, with 22 points in 16 games, moved into the lead in the Eastern Conference after blowing an early lead against Buffalo.
In a nutshell: The Penguins scored twice in the first 1:26 of regulation before Buffalo scrambled back to take a 3-2 lead. Third-period goals by Pascal Dupuis and Paul Martin sent the Sabres packing.
Turning point: Just 1:49 after Steve Ott gave the Sabres a 3-2 lead, Dupuis scored his second goal of the game to tie the game, killing Buffalo's momentum.
Under the radar: Dupuis had two goals an assist and three blocked shots, which on a lot of nights might earn him the "brightest star" honor.
The brightest star: Sidney Crosby just thrives off of playing in Buffalo and against goaltender Ryan Miller. He had a goal, two assists, four shots and won 12 of 22 faceoffs.
The last word: Coach Dan Bylsma: "They got the lead on us, and now you're looking up with about 13 minutes and you're down. We had a great response from Dupuis, Crosby's line shortly after that.
