The Penguins today traded winger Eric Tangradi to Winnipeg in exchange for a seventh-round draft pick in the June draft.
Tangradi, 24, had no points in five games this season. A part of a February 2009 trade with Anaheim that also brought Chris Kunitz to the Penguins, Tangradi was valued for his potential as a power forward, but he never pushed his way into the lineup as a regular.
Earlier this season, he was given some time on the left wing on Evgeni Makin's line but had been a healthy scratch the past eight games going into tonight's home game against Ottawa. Whether his skating held him back or whatever the case was, it's too bad Tangradi didn't work out here. The Penguins really liked his potential when they acquired him.
The Penguins play at Winnipeg on Friday.
