Centers Riley Holzapfel and Trevor Smith (right) each recorded a goal and an assist for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 4-1 road win against the Norfolk Admirals Saturday.
Smith scored at 13:21 of the first period to give the Penguins a 1-0 lead. The Penguins went up 2-0 when left winger Beau Bennett scored on a power-play just 47 seconds into the second period. Holzapfel's goal put Wilkes-Barre/Scranton up 3-1 at 10:23 of the third period. Center Warren Peters finished the scoring for the Penguins with an empty-net goal with 1:02 remaining in regulation.
Center Chad Kolarik recorded two assists for the Penguins while goaltender Jeff Zatkoff made 25 saves in the victory.
The win was the fifth in six games for the Penguins. Their next game is Tuesday at home against the Binghamton Senators, 7:05 p.m.
Goaltender Peter Delmas made 19 saves for the Wheeling Nailers in a 3-0 loss at home to the Reading Royals Saturday.
Wheeling has lost three consecutive games. The Nailers' next game is on the road Sunday against the Elmira Jackals, 4:05 p.m.
