After each game, Post-Gazette writers will post an entry listing the players who were announced as the official three stars of that contest, with a brief explanation of why they were selected.
We want to know how fans watching the game, whether in person or on television, feel about those choices, which generally are made by one or more media members covering the event.
Whether you agree completely with the selections made at the arena, disagree violently with them all or somewhere in between, you will have an opportunity to list your picks for the stars, along with a sentence or two for each laying out your rationale, in the Comments section below.
The three stars in the Penguins' 4-2 the New York Islanders Tuesday night at Nassau Coliseum were:
1. Penguins RW James Neal (one goal).
2. Penguins D Kris Letang (one assist).
3. Islanders RW Brad Boyes (one goal).
How the star selector(s) managed to overlook Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury is one of the great mysteries of the season to date.
