The Penguins' game-day skate at Nassau Coliseum today has been made optional by coach Dan Bylsma.
It is not known yet how many players will take part.
The New York Islanders, who are on the ice now, also are having an optional skate, although only a handful of players are not participating.
The Penguins and Islanders will play tonight at 7:08 at the Coliseum.
