Coach Dan Bylsma was the subject of considerable criticism --outside the organization, anyway -- when the Penguins stumbled through their first six games this season.
Back-to-back solid victories against the New York Rangers and New Jersey presumably have turned down that external heat on him a bit, but general manager Ray Shero made it clear before then that Bylsma's job was in absolutely no peril.
Asked hours before the Penguins' 3-0 victory at Madison Square Garden Thursday if the possibility of a coaching change had so much as crossed his radar, Shero gave a response that left little room for interpretation:
"No. No. No. No."
Bylsma's situation, along with the relatively brief shelf life of coaches in the NHL, will be discussed in Sunday's editions of the Post-Gazette.
