Goaltender Jeff Zatkoff made 21 saves and led the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to a 4-1 home win against the Manchester Monarchs Friday in their first game following the All-Star break.
The Penguins got goals from defenseman Joe Morrow (right) and center Trevor Smith in the second period as well as centers Zach Sill and Riley Holzapfel in the third period. The goals by Smith and Sill were short-handed.
Center Adam Payerl led all scorers with two assists.
The Penguins have won seven out of their past eight games. Their next game is at home Saturday against the Adirondack Phantoms, 7:05 p.m.
Goaltender Scott Darling made 32 saves for the Wheeling Nailers in a 2-1 home loss to the Reading Royals Friday.
Forward Zack Torquato scored the Nailers' only goal during the second period.
The Nailers' next game is on the road Saturday against the Kalamazoo Wings, 7:30 p.m.
