The Penguins have started their fist post-lockout practice, at Southpointe, All 25 players expected -- Evgeni Malkin was excused -- are on the ice.

So are the coaches, so the players are hearing whistles for the first time in a long time.

The stands -- and the parking lot -- are packed.
