Penguins defensive prospect Scott Harrington (right) was held without a shot and was even for Canada which edged the United States, 2-1, today at the World Junior Championships in Ufa, Russia.

Four Pittsburgh-area natives played for the United States. Ducks goaltending prospect John Gibson (Whitehall) made 30 saves. Rangers forward prospect J.T. Miller (East Palestine, Ohio) had three shots and was minus-2. Capitals forward prospect Riley Barber (Washington, Pa.) had three shots and was minus-2. Panthers forward prospect Vince Trocheck (Upper St. Clair) had two shots and was even.

Penguins defensive prospect Olli Maatta did not play for Finland today in a 5-4 shootout win against Switzerland due to an illness.

Penguins forward prospect Teddy Blueger had one shot, two penalty minutes and was minus-1 for Latvia which lost to the Czech Republic, 4-2.

The tournament continues tomorrow with the United States playing Slovakia, Finland facing Sweden and Canada taking on Russia.
