Miller gets 'A'

J.T. Miller of Coraopolis has been named an alternate captain for Team USA at the world junior championships in Ufa. Russia.

Miller was the New York Rangers' first-round draft choice in 2011, and is one of three members returning from the 2012 squad. (Goalie John Gibson of Whitehall is another.)

Buffalo Sabres prospect Jack McCabe is Team USA's captain, while Seth Jones, Cole Bardeau and Jacob Trouba are the other alterates.

Defenseman Scott Harrington, the Penguins' second-round draft choice in 2011, will wear an "A" for Canada in the tournament, which begins Wednesday.
