Penguins prospect Scott Harrington, a defenseman selected in the second round of the 2011 NHL draft, survived the final roster cut and will play for Canada at the world junior championships for the second year in a row.

Harrington, one of seven defensemen on the squad, is viewed as a viable candidate to serve as a captain or alternate.

Derrick Pouliot, the Penguins' No. 1 choice in 2012, was cut by Canada Thursday.
