Negotiations for a collective bargaining agreement that would end the NHL lockout have ended, at least for the day, in New Jersey with little progress made.
There was no immediate word on whether negotiations will resume Thursday.
Today's session included a federal mediator -- the second time there has been such involvement in recent weeks -- but early indications are that the sides did not move significantly closer.
Although the NHL reportedly put a comprehensive offer it yanked off the table last Thursday back in play, the NHL Players' Association apparently wasn't any more inclined to accept it today than it was then.
