Evgeni Malkin had a spectacular day, at least statistically, but it wasn't enough to prevent Metallurg Magnitogorsk from absorbing a 2-1 overtime loss to Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk in a Kontinental Hockey League game today.
Malkin scored his team's only goal, accounted for 13 of its 40 shots and won 26 of 39 faceoffs in 23 minutes, 35 seconds of ice time.
