The NHL and its Players' Association are scheduled to conduct a negotiating session Monday in New York.
The sides have not met since last Sunday, but this get-together comes only a few days after word got out that the league had floated the idea of taking a two-week break in the talks.
Monday's meeting is being held at the behest of the NHLPA, and it is not known at this point if there are specific issues that will be tackled then.
The NHL has been shut down by a lockout since mid-September, and all games through November -- as well as the Jan. 1 Winter Classic -- have been called off because of the dispute.
