-The lockout? It's still going on.

-"We thought there was no way we would miss games and this time." - Brooks Orpik (right) on the lockout.

-Beau Bennett scored both of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins' goal in a 2-1 defeat of the Springfield Falcons. Riley Holzapfel recorded two assists for the Penguins while teammate Jeff Zatkoff made 25 saves.

-Evgeni Malkin had no points was a minus-1 and recorded four penalty minutes for Metallurg Magnitogork in a 3-2 overtime loss to Avangard Omsk in Russia's KHL.

-Dustin Jeffrey was held without a point for Medvescak Zagreb in a 4-1 loss to Olimpija Ljubljana in Austria's EBEL.

-Former Penguins forward Stan Jonathan has been charged with the shooting death of an Ontario man. Jonathan appeared in 19 games for the Penguins during the 1982-83 season.

-Former Penguins forward Kevin Miller is being sued by a Swiss insurance company over a hit which ended the career of a player in a Swiss league game in 2000.

-Flyers defenseman Nicklas Grossman has joined Södertälje of Sweden's Allsvenskan.

-Philadelphia defenseman Bruno Gervais has joined Heilbronner Falken of Germany's 2nd Bundesliga.

-Flyers forward Wayne Simmonds has left the Liberec Tigers of the Czech Extraliga.

-“I guess I would say it’s an uninformed answer, unless he’s now tied in with ownership somewhere or wants to get involved with ownership and trying to take that side. Unless you’re on the calls and know what’s going on all the time, I don’t know what those comments are based on. Because he’s not involved.” - Senators defenseman Chris Phillips on comments by former Penguins forward Mark Recchi regarding the lockout. Recchi stated that the players won't be getting a better offer from the NHL the longer the lockout drags on.

-Capitals forward Jason Chimera has joined KLH Chomutov of the Czech Extraliga.

-Predators defenseman Kevin Klein has joined Herlev of Denmark's ABL.

-The lockout has allowed Blackhawks captain/forward Jonathan Toews to fully recover from a concussion he sustained last season.

-A right knee injury will keep Red Wings forward Valterri Filppula sidelined for six to eight weeks.

-“They’ve already got a billion dollars and now they want the most restrictive contracting rules in sport." - Canucks goaltender Corey Schneider on the owners.

-Ducks defenseman Cam Fowler has joined Södertälje of Sweden's Allsvenskan.
