The collective bargaining agreement talks in New York have wrapped up for the day after about 5-1/2 hours. That makes about 18 hours of talks over three days, and there are plans to resume Friday.

NHLPA executive director Donald Fehr indicated that the NHL responded to offers from the union made Wednesday -- believed to address revenue sharing and the "make whole" provision where players contracts are honored in full.

Not a lot of other details are emerging yet. The sides have been making an effort to keep things close to the vest.

We have no way of knowing what these developments mean in terms of reaching an agreement and ending the lockout, but at least neither side packed up its lunchboxes and went home in a huff.
