Here's the full (such as it is) text of NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly's email response to questions about the league's face-to-face talks with the NHL Players' Association Saturday, and where the negotiations stand going forward:

"We had a series of meetings over the course of the day, and covered a lot of the key issues separating us. We plan to meet again in the coming days."

NHLPA Steve Fehr, who represented the NHLPA Saturday, subsequently released this statement:

"I agree with what Bill said. Hopefully we can continue the dialogue, expand the group and make steady progress."

There still is no word on when that next session will take place, who will be involved -- Daly and Fehr, the No. 2 men on their respective sides, were the ones who talked Saturday -- and where it will take place.

Saturday's discussions, which wrapped up in the early-morning hours today, apparently were held at an undisclosed location rather than New York or Toronto, where earlier talks had been held.
