The No. 2 men on each side of the NHL lockout -- deputy commissioner Bill Daly and Steve Fehr of the NHL Players' Association -- had what Daly described as "a a series of meetings" during which they "covered a lot of the key issues eparating us" Saturday.
He added that the parties plan to get together again early this week, but did not say when, where or who will be involved.
The Saturday session was the first face-to-face contact in more than two weeks and came in the wake of the league's decision to cancel the Jan. 1 Winter Classic game between Detroit and Toronto.
