Penguins center Evgeni Malkin moved into third place in Kontinental Hockey League scoring with a power-play goal in Metallurg Magnitogorsk's 4-1 win over Vityaz. Malkin has eight goals, 28 points in 18 games. His 20 assists are tied for the lead in the KHL, which is now starting a break of almost two weeks.
You can watch highlights of Malkin's game here. Former Penguins defenseman Sergei Gonchar had two assists. If you watch the replay of Malkin's goal, you can see he seems to be missing an upper tooth since the last time we saw him in Pittsburgh.
Meanwhile, Penguins forward Dustin Jeffrey had a goal in Medvescak Zagreb's 5-2 win over Dornbirner in the Austrian League.
