CLEMENTE TRIPLES 2 RBIS IN 12TH 
PIRATES BEAT HOUSTON 6-1, NOW 11-11 
Saturday, May 13th, 1972 
 
HOUSTON - The Pirates and Astros battled with a 1-1 tie until the Bucs went crazy in the top of the 12th. 
RBI's by Roberto Clemente, Al Oliver and Manny Sanguillen gave the Pirates a 5 run 12th and a 6-1 victory over the Astros. 
 
Clemente's 2 run triple in the 12th was his only hit of the game was 0-4 and is now 91 base hits away from 3,000. 
 
Bob Moose and Ken Forsch had a scoreless duel until the top of the 5th. Gene Alley led off with a single and was driven home by Al Oliver. The Bucs held the tenuous llead until Jim Wynn tied the game with a leadoff HR in the 7th. Both Moose and Forsch pitched 11th innings. 
 
PH Vic Davailiio led off the top of the 12th with a single and took second on Jim Wynn's error. Gene Clines was hit by a pitch. Davalillo scored when Doug Rader misplayed Dave Cash's sac bunt to 3B. Oliver singled to score Clines. Clemente's triple scored both Cash and Oliver. Clemente scored on Sanguillen's single. 
 
Blass (1-2) got the win. Bob Miller got his 2st save. Fred Gladding (0-1) took the loss. 
 
Sunday's game has Nelson Briles (1-1) vs Don Wilson (1-2).
