BRADENTON, Fla. -- In today's Post-Gazette, A.J. Burnett talks about his approach to saving his arm.
As a veteran, Burnett has more of a say in his preseason preparation than some players, and he uses an approach that keeps his arm fresh for the season but still allows him to build his pitch count for opening day.
"It's a gradual increase," Burnett said. "It's going to take time for everybody here."

This morning, representatives from the MLBPA will meet with the Pirates and answer any questions they may have.
Likely on the agenda: testing and punishment for performance-enhancing drugs, including the new human growth hormone testing and testosterone baselines.
"I've gotten a few e-mails and been on a few calls this offseason," said Neil Walker, the Pirates' union rep. "It's been more along the lines of what they're going to do moving forward."
