In case anybpody missed it from Tuesday afternoon, the Pirates signed right-handed reliever Kyle Waldrop to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. Waldrop certainly has a lot of potential as a former first-round pick. But he has pitched sparingly in two seasons in the major leagues. 

A report that would have been surprising in 2008, Alex Rodriguez has been linked, yet again, to PEDs. Bill linked to the investigation Monday, but the names are starting to trickle out. The third baseman has denied involvement. The Yankees might look to void his contract. 

The Braves introduce their newest outfield, Justin Upton. 

The Seattle Mariners are close to signing catcher Kelly Shoppach to a one-year deal worth $1.5 million, plus incentives. 

The White Sox have outrighted pitcher Zach Stewart to Class AAA. The Pirates DFA'd Stewart when the team signed Jeff Karstens.
