ESPNBoston.com is reporting this afternoon that the Pirates and Red Sox are close to terms on a deal that would sent two-time All-Star closer Joel Hanrahan to the Red Sox for an unspecified return.
But Gordon Edes, who penned the report, said a source cautioned "there is still work to be done" on the potential deal.
