-The Twins put catcher Ryan Doumit on the 15-day disabled list after he was injured celebrating pitcher Brian Duensing recording a strikeout.
-Blue Jays third baseman Brett Lawrie was suspended four games for hitting umpire Bill Miller with a batting helmet.
Steelers/NFL
-With Willie Colon moving to guard, the Steelers' offensive line is beginning to take shape.
-The Giants unveiled their Super Bowl ring design:

Penguins/NHL
-The Penguins have plenty of bodies to work with on defense such as Simon Despres.
-The NHL officially informed the NHLPA it would like to terminate the current collective bargaining agreement. This is a formality in the process to negotate a new agreement.
-Martin Brodeur made 23 saves for the Devils in a 3-2 defeat of the rival Rangers in Game 2. Bryce Salvador recorded two assists for New Jersey which tied the series, 1-1.-Coyotes forward Martin Hanzal was suspended one game for his hit from behind against Kings captain Dustin Brown in Game 2. The explanation:
