-The Pirates officially traded Joel Hanrahan (right) and infielder Brock Holt to the Red Sox in exchange for pitchers Mark Melancon and Stolmy Pimentel, first baseman/outfielder Jerry Sands and infielder Ivan DeJesus Jr.
-Former Pirates outfielder Matt Diaz signed a minor-league deal with the Yankees.
-The Red Sox officially signed former Athletics infielder Stephen Drew to a one-year deal worth $9.5 million.
-The Mariners officially re-signed outfielder Raul Ibanez to a one-year deal worth $2.75 million.
-The Rangers officially signed former White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski to a one-year contract.
-Former Braves/Dodgers/Rangers/White Sox/Yankees outfielder Andruw Jones was arrested after allegedly assaulting his wife.

-Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis was activated from injured reserve after recovering from a triceps injury.
-The Raiders could start former Jeannette quarterback Terrelle Pryor for this week's season finale against the Chargers.
-The Cardinals will start former Steelers quarterback Brian Hoyer in this week's season finale against the 49ers.
-Cowboys defensive lineman Josh Brent was indicted on an intoxication manslaughter charge in the Dec. 8 death of teammate and freind Jerry Brown.
