-Former Steelers linebacker Joey Porter was jailed after allegedly writing a bad check.

-Browns running back Trent Richardson (ankle) and quarterback Brandon Weeden (shoulder) are dinged up heading into Sunday's game against the Steelers.

-The Browns placed wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi (knee) on injured reserve.

-The Bengals claimed wide receiver Dane Sanzenbacher of waivers from the Bears and placed cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick (knee) on injured reserve.

-Colts coach Chuck Pagano officially returned to his duties after recovering from leukemia treatment.

-The Jaguars placed wide receiver Cecil Shorts (concussion), running back Rashad Jennings (shoulder) and linebacker Greg Jones (leg) on injured reserve.

-Bills tight end Scott Chandler will miss the season finale against the Jets due to a knee injury.

-Raiders quarterback Carson Palmer (right) will miss the season finale against the Chargers due to rib and lung injuries.

-49ers wide receiver Mario Manningham will miss the rest of the season due to a knee injury.

-The Bears signed long snapper Patrick Mannelly to a one-year contract extension.

Penguins/NHL

-An "upper-body" injury has curtailed the amount of fighting Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins forward Zach Sill has engaged in this season.

-The World Junior Championships begin today in Ufa, Russia.

-Pitt moves into the Associated Press' top 25 poll.
