Steelers/NFL

-Jonathan Dwyer (right) has sparked the Steelers' running game.

-Alameda Ta'amua reinstated to the team after serving a two-week suspension.

-Don't expect the Steelers to be active at the trade deadline.

-Redskins coach Mike Shanahan admitted to feeling "dumb" for calling the trick play Sunday which led to quarterback Robert Griffin III taking a big hit from Ryan Clark.

-Alex Smith threw for three touchdowns and led the 49ers to a 24-3 win against the Cardinals.

-Giants linebacker Chase Blackburn (hamstring) and safety Antrel Rolle (head) are dealing with injuries.

-The Ravens were fined $20,000 for failing to list a full injury report.

College Football

-Pitt has lost linebackers Manny Williams (knee), Dan Mason (liver) and offensive lineman Ryan Schlieper (foot) for the season.

-West Virginia prepares for TCU.

-Capitals forward Marcus Johansson has joined BIK Karlskoga of Sweden's Allsvenskan for the duration of the lockout.

-The Winter Classic could be axed on Friday.
