-Jayson Werth's ninth-inning home run gave the Nationals a 2-1 win against the Cardinals in Game 4 of their National League Divisional Series. The series is tied, 2-2.
-A grand slam by Buster Posey helped the Giants beat the Reds, 6-4, in a series clinching Game 5 of their National League Divisional Series. San Francisco won the series, 3-2.
-J.J. Hardy's RBI double in the 13th inning gave the Orioles a 2-1 win against the Yankees in Game 4 of their American League Divisional Series. The series is tied, 2-2.
-Justin Verlander recorded 11 strikeouts for the Tigers over nine innings in a 6-0 series-clinching shutout of the Athletics in Game 5 of their American League Divisional Series. Detroit won the series, 3-2.
