-Highlights:
-The Pirates acquired first baseman Gaby Sanchez and pitcher Kyle Kaminskafrom the Marlins in exchange for outfielder Gorkys Hernandez and a conditional draft pick.
-If nothing else, the Pirates are tougher. Sanchez once did this to former Pirates outfielder Nyjer Morgan:
-The Pirates acquired pitcher Chad Quallls from the Yankees in exchange for first infielder Casey McGehee.
-The Pirates will keep all their new players past 2012.

-The Reds acquired pitcher Jonathan Broxton from the Royals in exchange for pitchers J.C. Sulbaran and Donnie Joseph.

-The Bengals signed head coach and former Steelers assistant Marvin Lewis to a contract extension through 2014.
-The Titans signed wide receiver Kendall Wright, their first-round pick, to a four-year contract worth $8.2 million.
-The Jets are expected to cut ties with former Pitt tackle Jeff Otah.
-The Seahawks signed former 49ers wide receiver Braylon Edwards to a one-year contract.
-Giants safety Tyler Sash was suspended four games for violating the NFL’s performance enhancing drug policy.
-Penn State running back Silas Redd (right) transfers to USC.
-Pitt doesn't want to be a lame duck in its final Big East season.
-The Big East is trying to re-invent itself once again.
-The Sabres re-signed restricted free agent forward to a three-year deal worth a total of $3.825 million.
