-The Pirates acquired outfielder Travis Snider (above) from the Blue Jays in exchange for pitcher Brad Lincoln.

-The Braves acquired former Pirates pitcher Paul Maholm and outfielder Reed Johnson from the Cubs in exchange for pitching prospects Arodys Vizcaino and Jay Chapman.

Steelers/NFL

-Steelers linebacker Chris Carter is trying to make the most out of his opportunity.

-Former Jets/Patriots running back and Pitt star Curtis Martin (right) played football for different reasons.

-Ravens tight end Dennis Pitta suffered a hand injury.

-Jets wide receiver and former Steeler Santonio Holmes said he was made a scapegoat last season.

Penguins/NHL
