-Former Penguins defenseman Ross Lupaschuk has joined EC Salzburg of Austria's EBEL.
-The Bruins signed former Maple Leafs forward Christian Hanson to a one-year two-way contract. He is a native of Peters Township.

-Eagles running back and former Pitt star Dion Lewis was arrested in Albany N.Y. over felony charges of damaging a hotel.
-Former Stanford basketball guard and Shady Side Academy star Peter Sauer passed away. He was 35.
