-The NHLPA and the NHL have agreed on a temporary salary cap of $70.2 million and will begin negotiations Friday.

-The Blues signed head coach Ken Hitchock to a one-year contract extension through 2013-14.
-The Flames acquired the signing rights to defenseman Dennis Wideman from the Capitals in exchange for defenseman Jordan Henry and a fifth-round pick. After the trade, Calagry signed Wideman to a five-year contract worth a total of $26.25 million.
-The Flames re-signed forward Blake Comeau to a one-year contract worth $1.25 million. In 74 games last season, Commeau scored 15 points (five goals, 10 assists).
-The Kings are looking for puck used from the final moments in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup final and they suspect Devils forward Patrik Elias has something to do with it.
-Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was named the NFL's top player based on a vote by players.
