-The Giants' Matt Cain tosses the 22nd perfect game in major league history as the Giants pound the Astros, 10-0. It was the first perfect game in the history of the franchise.

-Casey Hampton is taking Alameda Ta'amu under his wing.
-The Steelers signed linebacker Brandon Johnson and long snapper Matt Kafula, released tight end Wes Lyons and waived wide receiver Connor Dixon.
-Bengals linebacker Dontay Moch was suspended four games for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.
-The Saints claimed former Penn State wide receiver Derek Moye off waivers from the Dolphins.
-Saints defensive end and former Pitt star Greg Romeus has suffered a torn ACL and MCL in his right knee.
-The Penguins released their preseason schedule.

-The Jets re-signed forward Jim Slater to a three-year contract worth a total of $4.8 million. Slater, 29, will have a salary cap hit of $1.6 million. In 78 games last season, Slater scored 21 points (13 goals, eight assists).

-The Kings will hold their victory parade today.
