-Flyers forward Ian Laperriere who has missed each of the past two seasons due to a head injury, plans on officially retiring this summer.

-The Avalanche signed forward David Jones to a four-year contract extension worth a total of $16 million. Jones, 27, will have a salary cap hit of $4 million. In 72 games this past season, he scored 37 points (20 goals, 17 assists).

-Having struggled this past season with concussions he suffered as a player, Avalanche assistant coach Adam Deadmarsh resigned.
