Post-Gazette sports reporter Paul Zeise blogs about the world of sports, and Pittsburgh sports in particular, with an assist from Seth Rorabaugh and his Morning Links. Follow Paul on Twitter @PaulZeise and Seth @emptynetters.
One of the more entertaining recent additions to Twitter has been Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin (right). From posting photos of his Halloween party or his time at Pitt games to asking aloud if tomatoes are a fruit, Malkin's seemingly carefree attitude has come through in a hilarious fashion through the social medium.
Recently, he talked about how he uses Twitter:
What prompted you to join Twitter?
"I follow news, Russian news, Russian KHL championship. Sometimes I put a picture of my friends but not every day."
Are you surprised at how much fans enjoy your Twitter account?
"Yeah of course surprised. Lots of people follow me. They ask to talk more. I’m not super Internet guy you know? I just read news."
Do you have to be careful with what you Tweet?
"I go home, have dinner, lunch, nap. It’s not secret. If I have funny picture, I do it."
You tweet in English and Russian. Is it more difficult to speak English or write it?
"I think it’s easier when I read English. It’s easier when I speak English but a little bit tougher when I write. But I try. It’s good for me. I read what people say and translate."
Do you have a phone or computer with a Russian and English keyboard?
"Yeah. Both. iPhone. It has both."
