Ray Fittipaldo: Welcome to the Pitt basketball chat. Let's get started with your questions.
Evan F.: How do you see Pitt faring in its first part of the schedule vs. Cincy, Nova, Gtown, Rutgers and Marquette?
Ray Fittipaldo: The Cincinnati game is a big game. It's the opener and it's at home before having to go on the road to play two in a row. Cincinnati is the No. 11 team in the country. If they can win that game and get some positive momentum then 3-1 or even 4-0 is doable. But if you lose that game, you better hope to be 2-2 in that stretch. With Cincy and Georgetown on the slate in two of the first three it's probably as difficult an early stretch for any team in the conference.
Evan F.: Thanks Ray. It seems over the years Pitt is very mum in regards to recruiting, but anything with the open scholly for '13 and the prospects for 2014 since that will be a large class due to graduations?
Ray Fittipaldo: JamelArtis, a small forward at Notre Dame Prep, is a possibility for the open scholarship. I haven't hear many other names besides his, but sometimes we don't hear about it until it happens. For instance, Chris Jones kind of came in from off the radar when they signed him last spring. In 2014, They'll be looking to replace Patterson and Moore and Zanna, so I would look for them to try to add depth at the forward positions.
Ray Fittipaldo: Evan, thanks for joining the chat this week. I literally couldn't have done it without you.
