Pitt coach Jamie Dixon believes Trey Zeigler is sorry about being arrested for driving under the influence late last month, but based on his comments Monday afternoon it sounds as if athletic director Steve Pederson and others in the athletic administration will have to sign off on Zeigler returning to the team.

Dixon was asked whether Zeigler would return for tomorrow’s game against Duquesne. Here is what he said:  “I have to talk to the administration. He obviously had some other things he’s had to address and do, responsibilities and punishments. He needs to continue to do the right things, which he has. It’s a horrible thing, obviously. It was a shock that he was involved. But no kid has ever been more remorseful. I think he recognizes the position he put himself in.”

Zeigler has missed the past two games against Howard and Detroit after being arrested Nov. 25 near campus.

Trey will also enjoy negative chants from every opposing student section of D-U-I all season. The Zoo has been more prone to invoking crude language this season and they need to bring creativity back and take some high roads as the flipside is Pitt players will be subject to verbal abuses on the road, as always.
