Highly touted recruit James Robinson will try out for the Team USA U 18 national team in June. Robinson, a point guard who will be a freshman in the fall, is one of 24 players who will compete for 12 roster spots.
The 12 players chosen to represent Team USA will play in the FIBA Americas Under 18 championship in Brazil from June 16-20. The team will be coached by Florida's Billy Donovan. Shaka Smart of VCU and Mark Few of Gonzaga will assist.
Robinson recently represented Team USA in the 2012 Nike Hoop Summit in Portland, Oregon on April 7.
Robinson, who played at DeMatha High School in Maryland, is expected to be the backup point guard for the Panthers next season.
