Junior point guard Tray Woodall will undergo sports hernia surgery Friday morning to repair the injury that kept him out of 11 games in the middle of the season.
Woodall injured his groin/abdomen in a non-conference game against Duquesne. He missed the next six games before returning to play the Big East opener against Notre Dame. He was not happy with his performance and then sat out the next five games before returning for the final 17.
Sophomore forward J.J. Moore also will have surgery to repair the fractured fifth metatarsal bone in his right foot.
Both players are expected to miss three months.
